Operation Rahma 17 – PAKISTAN FLOOD APPEAL

The people of Pakistan are experiencing yet another devastating flood that has already destroyed 1.2 million houses and flooded 4.5 million acres. More than 300,000 people have been left homeless, with the number increasing each day. The scene is a traumatic reminder of similar flooding that ravaged much of Pakistan last summer. Residents of Pakistan are facing the same uncertainty they did last year. The people have struggled to regain a sense of security and normalcy, and being hit by another flood has left citizens completely exhausted and full of frustration.
Residents wait for help from a government that is already stretching for money. Many people are losing hope and see their only way out coming from the generosity of international aid. Beyond the need for food, those affected also need clean water, health care, protection and shelter. The situation is becoming increasingly more chaotic as the people of Pakistan are at growing risk of facing fatal diseases. There have already been 2000 cases of malaria confirmed, with that number on the rise. Without immediate action, the fate of these people will be a tragic one.
The North American Muslim Foundation is exclusively focused on providing humanitarian aid to those in crisis. Our goal is completely dedicated to providing the vulnerable people of Pakistan with much needed relief supplies. Last summer, NAMF was at the forefront of the disaster in Pakistan, distributing tonnes of supplies and offering health care, saving many lives. Previous relief efforts spearheaded by NAMF, your registered Muslim Canadian NGO for the last 38 years, have resulted in the providing relief and rehabilitation to thousands of people around the world.
